I’ve had several blogs in my life but the only one that stuck was the one I had in nursing school when all I wrote about was going to bars and meeting boys.
I’ve tried to keep up with my writing. But I graduated from nursing school and took a high stress job that I left as soon as my contract expired. I finally got over the man who tore me to shreds. I stopped going to the bar every night, getting drunk and meeting all the wrong men. Instead, I got happy. I met and married a wonderful man, found a job that didn’t suck the life out of me, and life settled into something wonderful as all the chaos melted away. Basically, I ran out of material.
Then, we had a baby. And life has become chaotic once again. But in a much better, much more beautiful way.
This isn’t a mommy blog. I don’t intend for it to be, I don’t really care for them and I don’t really think I’m one of those kind of moms. We didn’t do any fancy photo shoots with our son, I have never tried anything I’ve seen on Pinterest, and my son didn’t get a Halloween costume or a picture with Santa this year because he is too young to know what either of those things are. We live in a very small space in the city and are trying to keep things as uncluttered and simple as we can.
And I’m also just beginning the quest to lose the baby weight. If you can even still call it that because my son is almost 8 months old. To that end, I’ve just started Weight Watchers. Again. This will be my 5th attempt. When I was in college, I was successful and lost 50 lbs. Since then, my weight has crept up to the point that what was my starting weight then is now my goal weight. This time, though, my motivation is a second (future) pregnancy and knowing that I will have a crazy toddler or two to chase after in the next few years.
I also like other things, such my job. And books and crossword puzzles. And my husband. And bargain shopping.
So, hopefully I have enough material to keep up with this thing again. Because I’ve been paying to keep this web address active for years so I think I need to start using it.
